Scaling Climate Solutions: From AI Innovation to Global Impact
Venue: Standards Pavillion
Time: 12 November 2025, 14:30 – 15:45
Introduction
As climate challenges accelerate, artificial intelligence is emerging as a powerful catalyst for scalable, science-driven solutions for climate resilience, mitigation and sustainable transformation. The ITU AI for Good Innovation Factory has become a platform for nurturing early-stage, high-impact AI solutions with the potential to scale.
This session spotlighted the latest success stories from the Innovation Factory, featuring winning teams whose AI-powered solutions had been driving measurable climate action including an AI-powered software to achieve net-zero and an intelligent system that automatically verified the quality and impact of clean energy projects. It also highlighted a winning solution from the UNFCCC AI for Climate Action Challenge, showcasing synergies between global climate governance and frontier AI innovation.
Beyond the pitches, the discussion expanded to explore how these innovations could move from pilots to scalable impact — through industry partnerships, open data, supportive policies, and international standards. Representatives from the private sector, regional and international organizations, standards development organization discussed how collaboration and standardization can help transform promising AI prototypes into trusted, interoperable, and globally deployable climate solutions. Panellists highlighted real-world success stories, demonstrating how AI-powered solutions for climate action had been effectively deployed and scaled.
